Tee itse rento riippumatto

Vankka ja joustava riippumatto on mukava makoilualusta. Oman lepopaikan voi tehdä vahvasta ja jämäkästä muoviverkosta. Muoviverkko on helppohoitoinen materiaali ulkokäyttöön, sillä hiekka ja muut ulkoroskat tippuvat pois reikien väleistä. Pinta kestää myös hyvin sadetta.

Muoviverkkoa myydään rauta- ja puutarhakaupoissa.

TARVIKKEET

Noin 2 metriä muoviverkkoa

2 paksua luudanvartta

Pohjamaalia ja maalipensselin

Ulkokalustemaalia (esim. Miranol, Tikkurila)

25 metriä polyesteriköyttä (Ø 6−8 mm)

Sakset ja tulitikkuja

2 O-rengasta

2 pikalukkoa

OHJEET

1. Leikkaa luudanvarret sopivaan pituuteen, hieman verkon leveyttä pidemmiksi. Hio leikatut pinnat ja levitä pohjamaalia keppeihin. Pohjamaalin kuivuttua voit levittää niille kaksi kerrosta kiiltävää ulkokalustemaalia. Anna kuivua kunnolla.

2. Leikkaa köysi osiin ja polta päät, jotta ne eivät purkaannu. Kepit kiinnitetään verkkoon köyden avulla. Etsi kepeistä noin kuusi sopivaa kohtaa kiinnityksille ja merkkaa ne esimerkiksi teipin palasilla. Kiinnitä verkko keppiin vetämällä köysi itsensä läpi niin, että keppi ja verkon lenkki jäävät väliin. Aloita reunimmaisesta teipillä merkatusta kohdasta ja vedä köysi sitten läpi suuresta O renkaasta. Jatka eteenpäin toistaen samoin. Kun olet valmis, sido köyden päät yhteen.

3. Sido toinen köysi puun ympärille ja kiinnitä se pikalukolla riippumaton köysissä kiinni olevaan O renkaaseen. Näin riippumatto on helppo irrottaa ja laittaa takaisin.

DIY: Cosy net

A sturdy but flexible hammock is a comfortable place to lie. You can easily make yourself a nice resting place using strong, stiff plastic netting. Plastic netting is a care-free material for outdoor use, as sand and scraps fall out through the holes, and the surface also endures rain.

Sturdy plastic netting can be found in hardware and gardening stores.

MATERIALS

Plastic netting, appox. 2 metres

Thick broomsticks

Primer and paintbrush

Outdoor furniture paint (e.g. Miranol, Tikkurila)

Polyester rope (Ø 6−8 mm), 25 metres

Scissors and matches

O rings (2 pcs)

Carbiniers (2 pcs)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut the broomsticks to the appropriate length, slightly over the netting width. Smooth the cut surfaces and prime the sticks. Once the primer has dried, add one or two layers of shiny outdoor furniture paint and let the sticks dry properly.

2. Cut the rope into two halves, and burn the ends so that they won’t unwind. Attach the sticks to the netting with the rope. Locate good rope through-pulling points and mark them e.g. with pieces of tape. After each double-through-pulling, draw the rope through a large O ring, and return to the next piece of tape. Attach the stick from approximately six evenly distributed points. When completed, tie the ends of the rope together.

3. Wrap the rope around a tree and attach it to the hammock ropes with a carabiner. The hammock is easy to detach and re-attach.
